A TREBLE was the order of the day for Tom Greenall at the Derwent hunt point-to-point meeting at Charm Park, near Wykeham.

He rode two winners for David Easterby and one for Cherry Coward at this popular meeting which attracted 156 entries.

Greenall’s first victory came in the Confined race on Unjust Law, the pair went on to win by a comfortable six lengths from the long-time leader, Glenelly Gale, who was given an excellent ride by Rebecca Mason.

The second win came in the Restricted race on the heavily backed My Old Piano. Elusive Swallow took up the lead and did not look like being caught, but a valiant effort by Greenall ensured My Old Piano got up to win by a head. The in-form Greenall’s treble was achieved by riding Phenix Jack to an impressive victoryin Division One of the maiden race, winning by a massive 20 lengths.

Steven Charlton won the Members race, riding Willywonthe to a comfortable three-length victory.

Cherry Coward achieved the first leg, of what was to become a double, in the Men’s Open. Le Passing, travelled strongly and stayed on well under Toby Greenall to win by two-and-a-half lengths, being chased all the way to the line by Johnny Venture.

The Ladies’ Open saw Blandings Castle ridden by Pip Tutty, make most of the running, only to be headed two out by Encore Cadoudal, but Tutty fought to get back up near the line to clinch a half length victory. Division two of the maiden race completed the day and saw Chris Dawson, riding the fluent Fli My Son, beat the strongly fancied Snake Rave, ridden by Tom Greenall, by a head.
