PONY racing came to Ryedale for the first time at the Middleton Hunt point-to-point on April 5.

The 138cm race, run over five furlongs, had to be split into two divisions due to a high number of entries. The first division was won in fine style by Catherine Dwyer riding Finbarr.

It was a thrilling neck and neck battle to the line in division two which resulted in a dead heat between William Easterby riding Matley Merlin II and Lois Teal on Kingfisher Moonshine.

The 148cm race was run over six furlongs and first past the post was Alex French riding Miss Brady.

138cm (Division 1) – 1 Catherine Dwyer & Finbarr, 2 Amy Milburn & Jazz, 3 Emma Smith & Willow, 4 Anna Chapman & Talisman.

138cm (Division 2) – 1= William Easterby & Matley Merlin II, 1= Lois Teal & Kingfisher Moonshine, 3 Jack Teal & Trigger Happy, 4 Charlie Uttley & Dalesides Narrator.

148cm – 1 Alex French & Miss Brady, 2 Charlotte Dennis & Classical Night Star, 3 Lily Grace Franks & Four Winds Gambling Man.
