A SHERIFF Hutton dressage rider has secured three golden tickets for the British Dressage Winter Championships in April at Hartpury College.

Roxanne Shipley, 23, took part in the Bishop Burton British Dressage Regionals on February 11, 12 and 13 to compete for places at the National Championships.

Her first ride, Show Sister, was a seven-year-old mare that Roxanne has been riding for three years.

Show Sister was placed in both elementary classes on the Sunday with high scores.

She then came back on the Monday to place in the Medium Gold and also then to get a win in the Medium Gold Freestyle Class, qualifying her for the championships.

Roxanne’s second ride, Bravoure, is a 12-year-old gelding who she has recently taken over from her sister, Bethany, until Bravoure is sold, as Bethany Shipley is now concentrating fully on British Eventing.

Roxanne and Bravoure secured a win in the Advanced Medium Gold Class.

Then, on Tuesday, Roxanne secured the hat-trick when, riding Bravoure, she won the Advanced Medium Gold Freestyle.

Roxanne has previously competed for Great Britain in various internationals from 2010 in ponies, juniors and young rider classes.

Looking ahead, this year she is aiming for the under-25s Grand Prix with her top horse Headmore Dream On, as well as training Show Sister up the levels to campaign her at the Premier Leagues in 2019 and hoping to compete Bravoure at Small Tour level later this year.

The NAF Five Star Winter Dressage Championships will be held on April 11-15 at Hartpury Arena.
