Malton riding club had a good turn out for its first combined training competition.
A friendly relaxed atmosphere ensured those in class one for beginners who have never been placed first to third in any dressage or jumping competition, had an enjoyable outing.
The dressage phase saw some well presented tests for judge, Marje Coultas, with those in class one all having less than one percent between them.
Class two was the biggest class of the day, again with some good tests but only three clears in the show jumping phase and none of them making the optimum time allowed, meaning they all gained penalties for going too slow.
Samantha Bell riding her lovely mare, Wynnmere Tea Party pulled out the best dressage mark, with a clear show jumping and just eight penalties to add to her dressage score leaving them the clear winners.
The open saw only two competitors battle it out for the final red rosette of the day, friends, Georgia Dukes and Jaimie Kerr both produced good tests with Georgia just taking the lead, and again both clear over the 1m5 course and again both incurring time faults with Georgia just seconds ahead, leaving her the winner.
