A HUSBAND-and-wife team are celebrating five years in business and eyeing further expansion.

Iain and Liz Pocklington, who run the Riverford Organic Farmers home delivery service across North Yorkshire set up their franchise in 2014.

They deliver organic veg boxes to more than 750 customers each week and are aiming to increase that to 1,000 over the next two years.

Iain said: "Delivering fresh organic veg boxes has got to be one of the best jobs ever. Our customers genuinely love the fact that we sow, grow and deliver to their door."

The couple say their sales growth reflects ambitious planning and hard work, but also changing ecological and health concerns.

Veg boxes use very little plastic packaging and are collected for re-use and recycling. Home compostable packaging is also being trialled.

Iain and Liz will be at many festivals this summer and are sponsoring the LandAid Pedalthon on June 7, which starts and ends at Castle Howard.
