A MALTON company has secured a £200,000 contract to provide bespoke windows for a major renovations project.

Derwent Vale Building Services, based in Showfield Lane, is providing over 50 made-to-measure windows for a property in Scarborough.

The five-storey former hotel, in Huntriss Row, is being redeveloped into shops and flats and is due to be completed by the summer.

Director of Derwent Vale Builders, David Hume, said the company had recently invested in new technology to enable them to expand the range of services offered.

"We are embracing new technology and moving with the times which has enabled us to make these windows in our workshop," he added.

"A spraying area has also been installed enabling us to provide fitted painted windows rather than having to have a decorator on site."

Established in 1997, David said Derwent Vale provided a full range of building and joinery services from new houses to renovations.

"We were fortunate to win this contract as we have worked with the developer before and he knew our staff and quality of work," he added.

"This is a big project and we are looking forward to seeing the building completed."
