A MALTON business which has been established for more than 180 years has gone up for sale.
Gunsmiths and sports shop J Anderson and Son, in Saville Street, has gone on the market with Barry Crux for £175,000.
The business, which was established in 1830, has gone up for sale after current owner Stephen Fletcher said he will be retiring after more than 50 years in the business.
The shop sells a wide range of sports equipment, clothing and accessories, as well as being a gunsmiths.
Barry Crux said that the shop would provide “an ideal opportunity for an enthusiastic purchaser to expand and grow what is an established retail businesses”.
The asking price is for a long lease, business goodwill, fixtures and fittings or is available for sub-lease at £25,000 and a rent of £12,500 per annum.
Mr Fletcher, 67, said that there had already been some interest in the sale of the shop but no offers had been accepted as of yet.
