RYEDALE should get ready to rock and roll as the area’s very own recording studio is set to open.

Owned by Paul Pickering, of Pulse Sound and Lighting, Pulse Studio Sound will offer local and up and coming bands the chance to record some material and work in a professional studio.

Paul, 47, said that the studio, in Enterprise Way, Thornton Road Industrial Estate, Pickering, has already started taking bookings and he is hoping that music lovers will make good use of the studio.

“It fits quite well with what we do as we have had Pulse Sound and Lighting for more than 30 years now,” he said.

“The recording studio is a branch off from that really and we hope that it will be a big success.”

Pulse Light and Sound has catered for hundreds of festivals over the years, providing live sound for various events.

Paul said that despite the road to setting up the recording studio having “its up and downs”, the wealth of experience they already have will transfer over to Pulse Studio Sound.

He said: “The studio will be run by Tommy Moore who has worked with major bands and artists across the country, so it will be in good hands.

“A lot of bands we take care of can come in and use it and we are looking towards working with schools and after school clubs to get them into the studio.”

There will be a launch party for the studio on Saturday, December 13, when visitors will be able to try out the instruments at the studio and have a go at recording a song live.

There will also be a 15 per cent discount for anyone booking a session in the studio that day and Paul will be offering gift packs and vouchers for a Christmas present with a difference.
