CINEMA: Fond farewell to the holidays

THE bank holiday is over and that makes me think that the school holiday must also be coming to an end. I know the shops have been full of back to school since they broke up. But, there is still time to take in a film if you have missed out.

MY sojourn to France took a little longer than expected with the kitchen (to be fitted) arriving three days later than expected and during that time Screen 3’s cooler stopped working and there was an issue with the receiver for Andre Rieu.

WITH the summer holidays finally arriving with us, it is always a little quieter at the beginning, as a lot of families escape from the day-to-day routine for their holidays. However, we have a great selection of films as usual.

ON a brief sojourn to France, travelling on Sunday, the roads seemed very clear and then as I pulled off the motorway for my overnight stay, they seemed extremely pleased to see me with flags out and car horns sounding.

DID you go out at all on Saturday at about 3pm? It was deserted in Malton and Norton and then there was the scream all over as England scored the first goal. I then went in and watched the rest of the match (I was not at the cinema).

CINEMA: Summer holiday planning under way

WE are already working on our schedule for the summer holidays and we are considering Hotel Transylvania 3 and Incredibles 2 for families. Ant-Man and The Wasp in 3D, Mission Impossible: Fallout for the more grown-up. Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again is booked in already from its release on July 20 (some shows already on the website to book).

CINEMA: Edge-of-the-seat Solo show

IT has been an exciting week; new projector installed, one moved, and an item finished. The change in projector is to reduce the energy consumption and also means all the projectors conform to the latest digital cinema security requirements – nothing really affecting the picture, but all are better automated.
