NOTICE OF MAKING OF AN ORDER
HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981
THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF DURHAM (PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO. 69 STANLEY PARISH! PUBLIC PATH EXTINGUISHMENT AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER 2019
The above order, made on 24/10/2019, under section 118 of the Highways Act 1980, will extinguish the public footpath running from the junction with Public Footpath No. 70 west of Tanfield Railway, in a southerly direction via Bankwell House to the junction with Causey Road (A6076), as shown on the order map. The above order will also modify the Definitive Map and Statement of the Public Rights of Way for County Durham by deleting the footpath described.
A copy of the order and the order map have been placed and may be seen free of charge at Stanley library & County Hall, Durham during normal opening hours and via the Council website. Copies of the order/map may be bought there at the price of £1.15.
Any representations about or objections to the order may be sent in writing addressed to Sharon Renwick, Legal Assistant, County Hall, Durham DH1 5UL or by email to
(ref: 23772) not later than 28/11/2019. Please state the grounds on which they are made.
If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the County Council of Durham may confirm the order as an unopposed order. If the order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment for confirmation any representations or objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the order.
(DORLONCO VILLAS. CENTRAL AVENUE. BURNIGILL. SOUTH VIEW AND WEST VIEW. BROWNEY) (20MPH SPEED ZONE) ORDER 2019
The Council on 24/10/2019 made an Order under Sections 84 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 "the Act"), as amended, the effect of which comes into operation on 2/11/2019 and is to introduce a 20mph Zone on (1) Dorlonco Villas from a point 3m from jet with B6300 Browney Ln for its entire length (2) South View from jet with Central Ave and West View for its entire length (3) Central Ave from a point 5m from jet with A690 Low Willington for its entire length (4) West View From a point 6m from jet with A690 Low Willington for its entire length (5) Burnigill from jet with West View and Central Ave for its entire length. Full details are contained in the Order, a copy of which may be inspected at County Hall, Durham Mon-Fri 9am-4pm; via the Council website and at Brandon Library during normal opening hours. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by "the Act", as amended, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within 6 weeks from 31/10/2019 apply to make an application for that purpose to the High Court.
(OLD ELVET - TERRITORIAL LANE. DURHAM CITY) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TURNING) ORDER 2019
The Council proposes to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended, Section 14 (1) to prohibit all vehicular traffic from turning left from Old Elvet into Territorial Lane and also turning right from Territorial Lane into Old Elvet, Durham City to enable sewer works to be undertaken at the junction of Old Elvet and Territorial Lane. Alternative route will be available via Court Lane. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence on 20/11/19 and are anticipated to be completed in 4 weeks. On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly. Dated: 31st October 2019
