So sorry to hear that Dr Wetherell has passed away. My mum (Eileen Roberts) passed away in 2019, but I know would have been sad to hear of his passing. He was out family doctor for many years and was very easy to talk to and had a wonderful bedside manner. May you rest in peace Dr Wetherell. Jacqueline Roberts

He was my Dr from delivery in 1978 at Malton Hospital until his retirement in 1998. He was a truly wonderful Dr, he had the time of day for anyone. I have never had a Dr like him again. He was a dedicated man to his patients, community and Malton hospital. My thoughts are with his family. Rest in peace Dr Wetherell.

We are so sad to hear this news. So many families in Ryedale must be grateful for the care and kindness of Dr. Wetherell over many years.
He did so much to save Malton Hospital in the 70s and 80s when closure was likely.
He delivered all three children at Westow Croft in the 80s, in the middle of the night, not because he had to, but because he cared. And next day he was back doing his rounds. When one winter the roads were blocked with deep snow I gave him a lift to Leavening in a tractor, crossing fields and hedges to see a suspected appendicitis case, sometimes he would ski to see patients, true dedication. He was always there to offer help and support, a true friend.
With love and best wishes to all the family, Guy & Olly

Such a dedicated doctor. Worked so hard to save Malton Hospital in the 70s.
I remember taking him to Leavening on a snowy Saturday, when roads were blocked, on a tractor to see a young patient with suspected apendicitis. True care and dedication. Also he was a most caring and understanding friend, always going the extra mile to help. Many families in Ryedale will always be grateful for his care over many years of dedicated service.
He delivered all my three children at Westow Maternity all in the middle of the night, not because he had to but because he wanted to and cared for his patients.
We have lost a true friend and gentlemen.
Love to his wife and family always. Guy & Olly Raines

My mum (Rosie Hill) wanted me to express our condolences to you at this sad time.

Dr Weatherill held a special respect for mum. She always says she was one of his first maternity patients at Malton surgery when she first thought she as pregnant with me!

Mum is also at Rivermead (Westow unit) & although she knew he was there was unable to visit him due to covid restrictions.

You are in our thoughts
