POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a fox was attacked by dogs.
The incident happened on the B1249 between Foxholes village and Staxton Hill at about 1.40pm on Thursday.
Officers were called by members of the public who had reported a number of dogs attacking a fox in the carriageway, forcing several vehicles to stop.
Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident. They are especially keen to speak with the driver of a Sainsbury's van, which may have been first at the scene.
Witnesses should phone North Yorkshire Police on 101 or email neil.cholmondeley@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk
