Enjoy behind-the-scenes look in artists’ studios

ARTISTS will be opening their studios to the public as part of a district-wide event this month.

Ryedale is a haven and inspiration for many contemporary artists and in Malton and Norton alone four artists will be taking part in the scheme.

The 2008 North Yorkshire Open Studios will take place this weekend (May 17 and 18) and over the Bank Holiday weekend later this month.

Now in its fourth year, this year alone has attracted 30 new participants, which encourages curious art-lovers to view their workshops and galleries.

Artists from Farndale, Lockton, Helmsley and beyond will be taking part.

And to coincide with the event, Ryedale Folk Museum will be hosting an exhibition of local artists throughout the month.
