Kate Moss proved she is not just a pretty face when she came to the rescue of a guest who was suffering a hair crisis at a charity bash.

The supermodel popped to the ladies loos in top London hotel Claridges during the Marie Curie Fundraising Dinner, and ended up showing off her expert hairdressing skills when a fellow guest realised her classy up-do was collapsing.

A party insider revealed to The Daily Mirror that a girl's hair had started slipping out of place and her 'magic sponge', a device used for wrapping hair around to create a tight, neat bun, could be seen.

Kate, 38, saw the girl struggling to repair the damage and apparently told her: "I can't let another woman go out there with her sponge showing."

The model sat the girl down in front of the mirror, grabbed a hairbrush, pulled out all her hairpins and redid the hairstyle from scratch.

Kate, who has clearly picked up some tips from her friend, celebrity hairdresser James Brown, stunned watching party-goers as she quickly finished the perfect hairstyle and told the girl she was ready to face the music again.

Kate got back to the bash herself and later helped pal Ronnie Wood flog his self portrait at the auction for £12,000, before hitting the dancefloor.
