Thirsk Museum

Over the road from the workplace of James Herriot, stands the Thirsk Museum which illustrates the history and customs of previous generations living in Thirsk.

The founder of Lords Cricket Ground, Thomas Lord, was born here in 1755.

Facilities: Free parking. School visits of up to 30 are welcome.

Disabled Access: Yes, lower levels only as access to wheel chairs is restricted with the narrow stairs.

Wheel Chair visitors are welcome to watch a virtual tour on DVD from the reception area. Guide dogs are permitted.
