The half-mile - long grass terrace and adjoining woodland offer vistas over the Rievaulx Abbey (English Heritage) to Ryedale and the Hambleton Hills.
There is an abundance of flowers in spring.
The two mid-18th century temples include the Ionic Temple, intended as a banqueting house with elaborate ceiling paintings and fine 18th-century furniture.
Rievaulx Terrace & Temples is situated 2.5 miles north-west of Helmsley on the B1257.
Facilities: Gift shop, ice creams. Tea rooms at nearby Nunnington Hall.
