MALTON and Norton golfer Simon Dyson produced his best European Tour performance for three years at last weekend's Dubai Duty Free Irish Open, writes Ian Appleyard.
Dyson won nearly £13,000 after finishing 64th in the event held at the Portstewart Golf Club in Northern Ireland.
His three under par score was a major shot in the arm after missing the cut at six of his previous seven tournaments.
Dyson, 39, will now be looking to maintain his improvement tomorrow at the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open which takes places at the Dundonald Links at Troon. The event is the fourth stage of this season's Rolex Series.
