PICKERING'S Paul Davison is through to the second round of the Betway UK Snooker Championship after a 6-3 victory over Gary Wilson.
Davison lost the first two frames as Wilson produced breaks of 64 and 126 but then won the next four to take a 4-2 lead.
Wilson, the number 39 seed, won a tightly contested seventh frame but a 57 break in the eighth frame put Davison 5-3 ahead and on the brink of victory.
The ninth and, ultimately, final frame was a nervy affair but Davison eventually got home by 51-37 points on the pink.
He plays Ben Woollaston or Elliott Slessor - who are still currently playing - in the second round.
