SECOND Division side Lealholm pulled off a shock by beating First Division Sinnington in the Gordon Harrison Memorial Trophy.

Dan Stonehouse scored twice to give Lealholm a 2-0 halftime lead before Brad Lewis added a third early in the second half.

Sinnington staged a late comeback and goals from Dave Wilkinson and Tom Osborne set up a tense final eight minutes.

It needed a superb save from Lealholm's assistant-player/manager Tobi Fergus to prevent Lee Mitchell scoring an equaliser.

Man of the match winners were Will Sanders (Sinnington) and centreback James Twaddle (Lealholm).

Goals from Jack Hopwood (2), Pete Tiffney, Danny Nunwick, and Keaton Watson gave Slingsby a 5-0 win over Norton United.

Both clubs are struggling in their respective divisions but, on this occasion, the top-flight side showed their superiority.

Man of the match winners were Mike Anderson and Lee Timms (Slingsby) and Brodie Turnbull (Norton).

First Division Wombleton Wanderers romped to a 13-0 victory over Second Division strugglers Bagby & Balk.

Both Luke Tateson and Luke McLaren scored four goals for Wombleton supported by Keelan Simpson (2), Ben Richmond, Tom Ellis, and an own goal. Bagby’s goalkeeper Tommy Hunter also saved a penalty.

Man of the Match winners were Tateson (Wombleton) and goalkeeper Hunter, left back Bobby Hunter, and Adam Winspear (Bagby).

Ryedale Sports Club from the First Division needed a penalty shoot-out to beat Second Division Snainton Reserves.

Mark Vasey put Snainton into the lead after 20 minutes but Martin Myers equalised for Ryedale on the hour mark.

The first ten players all found the net in the shoot out leading to sudden death.

Player/manager Dan Bateson stepped up for Snainton but his shot was pushed into the post by goalkeeper Rob Campbell.

Tim Whincup scored for Ryedale to secure a 6-5 win on penalties.

Heslerton Reserves progressed in the East Riding CFA Qualifying Cup beating Courtland Raiders 2-1 at home.
