KIRKBYMOORSIDE Golf Club Rabbits Open Days always attracts good support and nearly 40 teams contested their open Tri/Am.

The handicap range of 12 to 24 drew teams from all over the county and with the course in excellent condition plenty of good scores were returned.

The winners were a local team with second place going to a team from Sutton GC (Hull) in third place was a team from Scarborough North Cliff.

The Rabbits Open Day completed 10 days of busy competition at the club.

On Bank Holiday Monday the Club’s Centenary Bowl – a Stableford competition for Ladies and Gents introduced in 2007 to celebrate 100 years of golf at Kirkbymoorside – produced the tightest possible finish with three players returning the same score, the final; result having to be decided on a count back. In the end the winner was Steve Sellers, in second place (back 3 count back) was Matthew Butler with Matthew Clements third. The winner of the ladies section was Val Sinclaire.

The following Sunday over 120 players contested the David Fletcher trophy – the club's first major/honours board competition of the year. The winner with an impressive net score of 63 was Adam Hornby in second place was Jim Dowkes and Chris Atkinson was third. Phil Butler carded the best gross score of the day with a 74
