NEWLANDS Park are the new first division leaders in the Scarborough & District League after a 4-2 at Sleights on Saturday.

Jamie Gallagher fired Newlands into the lead with Stew Bates adding a penalty, and debutant Liam Cooper added a third before the interval.

In the second half Sam Leadley pulled a goal back for Sleights but a second Cooper goal restored the visitors three goal advantage. Debutant Lewis Peel scored for Sleights to reduce the visitors' lead. Award winners were Sam Pike (Sleights) and Stew Bates (Newlands).

West Pier are second following a 6-1 win against Seamer Sports.

Tommy Barker, Billy Logan and Kris Tate gave Wests the first half edge, Gaz Lawton had scored for Seamer. In the second half Logan completed his hat-trick before Martin Cooper landed his side's sixth goal from the penalty spot. West Pier’s Man of the Match was Shaun Dodson.

In the League Cup, Itis Itis Rovers of Division Three gained a 4-3 cup revenge at home to Whitby Fishermen of Division One. Whitby and secured success when the teams met in the previous weeks North Riding CFA Saturday Challenge Cup.

Itis Itis took the lead with an unstoppable 35 yard shot by Sam Pickard. But Whitby equalised. Neil Forsyth's goal restored the lead for Itis Itis. In the second half the Fishermen scored two quick goals to lead 3-2 but the Rovers came storming back with an equaliser scored by Dave Young and they went onto to seal victory with a second Forsyth goal scored five minutes from time.

Newly formed Goal Sports reached the semi-finals in the Frank White Trophy after a 4-0 away win at Commercial thanks to goals scored by Niall Prentice (2),Kieran Friett, and substitute Dan Pickard.

In the second division, basement side Snainton claimed a useful point from a 1-1 draw at Duchess FC, James Hughes scored for the home side but Snainton’s Shane McAuley fired in a long range equaliser from outside the penalty area.

The two teams above Snainton Ayton and Falsgrave Athletic clashed at Ayton with the visitors worthy 5-2 winners to move four points clear of Ayton, the Falsgrave marksmen were Mikey Anderson (2), Mark Reddy, Paul Reddy, and Sam Mahoney. The Ayton goals were scored by Matty Bywater and Chris Milburn.

Edgehill Reserves are second after a slender 2-1 home win against Scalby, Tom Scales fired Edgehill into the lead, Craig Love scored the Edgehill second goal but the Referee failed to spot the ball had hit the back of the net as it came out for Jon Cairns to fire the ball back in and claim the goal.

Seamer Sports Reserves beat Cayton Corinthians Reserves 2-1,Cayton stunned their hosts by taking the lead thanks to a Jake McAleese goal, a ‘brace’ of Tommy Adams goals sealed the victory for SeamerSports.

Filey Town Reserves beat West Pier Reserves 6-2 thanks to goals scored by Joe Gage hat-trick, Billy Coyne (2), and Tom Haxby.

In the third division Sherburn obtained a useful point when they visited Filey Town 3rds with the game ending in a 2-2 draw, Filey took a two goal lead with a goal scored either side of the interval by David Brannan junior and Darren Clough, in the last 15 minutes Sherburn stormed back with goals scored by Gary Tyson and Matty Whitehall to earn a well deserved point.

Hunmanby United Reserves beat Westover Wasps Reserves 5-4 in a nine goal thriller thanks to a hat-trick scored by Cameron Dobson, their other goals were scored byReggie Smith and Kurt Williamson. The visitors goals were scored by an own goal Rob Whitehead, and a brace for Chris Hannam. Fishburn Park Reserves recorded their second league victory beating Scalby Reserves 4-0 thanks to goals scored by Kane Brannick, Billy Arnold, and Alex Wiggins (2).
