MALTON ‘A’s chances of retaining their York Conservative Clubs’ Carlsberg UK League title are fading fast after a shock 6-1 defeat by Fulford ‘B’.
Malton could only raise five players and only Dan Pawson won for them, beating Dean Smith.
Fulford’s Andy Hurley, Bob Smith, Andy Ogley and John Adcock had wins over Dominic Spiteri, Roger Ward, Phil Hart and Steve Pawson respectively to complete Malton’s misery.
Malton are now 13 points behind leaders Acomb ‘A’ with only five games remaining.
Acomb ‘A’ were without a fixture and their advantage at the top was cut to five points as Bootham ‘B’ had a 6-1 win over Bootham ‘A’.
Fulford ‘A’ hung on to third place with a 4-3 defeat of Heworth ‘B’.
Malton’s Simon Weatherill is in eighth place in the Worthington player of the year standings with eight wins from his nine matches.
He is also third in the Pasema Paving highest break standings with his run of 56, while team-mate Lee Taylor is second after his 58.
