RYAN COOPER netted twice as Pickering Town beat Handsworth Parramore 4-2 in the Northern Counties East League premier division.

Cooper opened the scoring for the Pikes after 29 minutes at Mill Lane and Joe Danby made it 2-0 six minutes after the break.

Parramore pulled level with two goals in five minutes, the first from former Selby Town player Bruno Holden and the second from Sam Smith. Billy Logan put the home side back in front with 15 minutes remaining and Cooper wrapped up the three points four minutes later with a brilliant volleyed finish.

In division one, Selby Town were beaten 3-1 at Shirebrook, with Dane Mortimor scoring, and Knaresborough Town lost 1-0 at home to Clipstone.

Harrogate Town’s five-match unbeaten run in Conference North came to a halt as they lost 5-2 at promotion-chasing Boston.

The visitors made a superb start, leading 2-0 after only five minutes thanks to goals from Louie Swain and Paul Clayton.

However, Boston scored three goals in nine minutes to lead 3-2 after 28 minutes, with Dayle Southwell scoring once and Mark Jones twice. Southwell complet - ed his hat-trick in the second half.

Fourth-placed Scarborough Athletic were held to a goalless draw by visiting Lancaster City.

Harrogate Railway Athletic are tenth after a last-gasp 2-1 victory at New Mills.

The hosts led through Rhys Nevins’ 21st-minute goal, but Malachi Farquharson levelled on 64 minutes and Stephen Bromley hit a last-minute winner.
