UNION 'A' whitewashed Royal Oak 'A' 7-0 to boost their quest for second spot in Malton & Norton League division 'A'.

Runaway leaders Derwent Arms 'B' were not in action but maintained a 13-point lead as Bright Steels 'A' lost 4-3 at home to Malton Cons, allowing Union to leapfrog them.

Malton Cons remain in contention for the runner-up berth.

Union 'A' are perilously close to relegation as they crashed 6-1 to bottom team New Globe 'B'.

Railway Tavern still have a nine-point lead in division 'B' despite losing 4-3 to second-placed Hyde Park 'A'. New Globe 'A' are two points behind in third after a 4-3 win at Blue Ball 'B'.

Hyde Park 'B' edged the battle at the bottom 4-3 at fellow strugglers Ham and Cheese.

Meanwhile, defending champion Jamie Barstow is in line to make it four Men’s Individual titles out of five after again reaching the final.

He beat Richard Flynn in his semi-final and, in the decider at Bright Steels on Monday, March 23, he will meet Mark Lund, who defeated Spencer Ward.
