A SOLID team performance from Mike Fenby, Neil Raine and Richard Dent saw Ryedale ‘B’ whitewash their struggling ‘D’ team in the Ryedale League first division.

Titch Temple, Barry Todd and Paul Morse are finding the opposition in the top tier just too good.

Helmsley ‘A’ were in determined mood, crushing Ryedale ‘C’ 9-1. Adam Ridley and Charlie Allott were unbeaten on the night with Alec Hodgson Ryedale’s only winner, beating Ruth Purseglove (2).

It was business as usual for table toppers Ryedale ‘A’ as they entertained Coneysthorpe ‘A’. Tim Adams, Joe Suchecki and Malcolm Haswell were dispatched 8-2 by man-of-the-match James Rule (3), John Flintoft (2) and Steven Temple (2).

Bob Evans was in superb form, winning all three games, while John Hanson and Stewart Brown chipped in with one each to ensure Whitby drew with rivals Amotherby ‘A’. Gareth Bryning and Tom Needham were Amotherby’s winners on the night.

In division two, John Gascoyne, Andy Paton and Barry Rudd battled hard to earn Ryedale ‘F’ a creditable draw against leaders Hutton-le-Hole ‘A.

For Hutton, Paul Young won all three and Jim Bailey one, with Chris Parker losing all three for the first time this season.

Coneysthorpe ‘B’ beat Ryedale ‘G’ thanks to unbeaten performances from Wendy Prest and Dave Allan plus one win from Eddie Prest. Malcolm Sanderlan and Josh Greaves replied with one each.

In division three, Andrew Grayson (2) lost his unbeaten record to Westow’s man-of-the-match, Ryan Hood, but Hood’s star performance couldn’t stop Ryedale Laundry winning 6-4 to stay top of the table.

Consistent displays from George Davison and Mircea Voicea saw Laundry over the line.

FERA got back to winning ways against Coneysthorpe ‘C’. Katha Heinrich was back to her best, winning all three, and Stuart Wright and Chris Richards took two each in a 7-3 triumph.

With a game in hand, Hutton-le-Hole ‘B’ are on Laundry’s shirt tails after an inspired 9-1 win over Amotherby ‘E’. A good team display by Doug Annan, Andrew and Mary Chappell saw them close the gap to just two points. Linda Clarke gained a consolation point for Amotherby.

Barbara Johnson, Jeff Andrews and Julie Cavanagh won one game each for Hutton-le-Hole ‘C’ but it wasn’t enough to stop Amotherby ‘D’ winning 7-3 thanks to a treble each from star man Andy Holmes and Janet Bailey, plus the doubles.
