BROTHER and sister Wayne and Kirsty Taylor booked their place in the Malton & Norton League’s Mixed Pairs final for the sixth year in a row as they won through a tough group at Bright Steels.

In their first match they won in the deciding frame against Jon Parkinson and Beckie Hargreaves before beating Richard Flynn and Janette Yildirim 2-0 in the semi-final.

In the other group at Malton Cons, Spencer Ward and Dilys Wright reached the final after wins against Rob Umpleby and Michelle Douthwaite and then Shane Wood and Claire Jackson.

It is tight at the top in the race to be crowned division ‘A’ house champion as Mark Johnson and Mark Lund are joint leaders on 11 points with third-placed Wayne Taylor two behind with a game in hand.

Paul Heselwood is on the brink of the division ‘B’ crown as he is three points clear with four matches remaining. Jon Parkinson is second, with David Brockless and Tom Wilson a further two points back.
