CAYTON Corinthians reached the semi-finals of the Scarborough & District League Trophy after a 5-2 home win against FC Rosette.

Sean Thompson gave the visitors - who sit bottom of division two with only one league win - into a surprise lead but Cayton equalised through a Tom Sixsmith header.

The Corinthians, lying third in the second division, then stormed in front with goals by Jake McAleese, Harry Holden, Josh Venner and Isaac Sands, before Nick Gowan got Rosette’s second.

Division one high-fliers Edgehill reached the League Cup semi-finals by beating second division side Duchess 2-0.

Man-of-the-match Liam Cooper netted both goals either side of half-time.

West Pier went top of division one with a 6-1 win over Hunmanby United.

Tommy Barker (2), Luke Delve (2), Ali Caw and Will Jenkinson were on target. Olly Milner got the sole reply.

Title rivals Filey Town came from a goal down - scored by Dan Freer - to beat champions Newlands Park.

Town substitute James Pinder equalised with 20 minutes remaining and Ricky Tomlinson put them in front six minutes later after fine work by Cameron Dobson.

Seamer Sports saw off Sleights. Joe Gallagher and Danny Bradbury gave Seamer a two-goal interval lead, Jamie Hartley headed in a corner on the resumption and Bradbury added his second before Sleights got a consolation through James Fawcett.

Martin Myers fired lowly Ryedale Sport Club ahead at Whitby Fishermen but the hosts hit back to win 2-1 with second-half goals by Peter Scaife and Neil Hart.

Ayton twice led visitors United Sports Bar before going down 3-2. Brad Parkin and Dan Pickard scored for Ayton but Liam Vasey and Charles Battye levelled each time before Tim Moors scored the winner.

Division two leaders Whitby RUFC beat Athletico 2B 6-2 thanks to goals by Sam Richardson (2), Marc Usher (2), Paul Jobling and Phil Spencer. Ben David and Shaun Chapman responded.

Filey Town reserves are second after a 3-2 win over Edgehill reserves courtesy of goals by Tom Haxby, Max Gage and Billy Coyne. Joe Logan and Martyn Ferrey, with a penalty, replied. Rob Holt fired Snainton ahead at Newlands Park reserves but the hosts won 3-1 with goals by Lewis Weller, Stefan Moon and Stew Bates.

Division three leaders Seamer Sports reserves extended their unbeaten record with an 8-0 win at Ayton reserves - and the scoreline could have been bigger but for the form of Ayton keeper Shaun Dolan. Danny Glendinning led the way with a hat-trick.
