PHIL BOINTON cemented his place at the top of the Pickering Rec Club Individual League’s ‘A’ division as the season resumed by beating Rich Webster and Geoff Atkinson.

But it was his old partner Steve Taylor who made the biggest move - picking up maximum points in matches against Roger Dawson and Rich Webster.

Taylor recorded 16 100-plus scores and is now pushing for the vital fourth spot.

Simmy Cass returned in good form, beating Jon Rule 4-1 with legs of 18, 18 and 15 darts including excellent checkouts of 130 and 155.

Alan Dawson picked up two tight 3-2 wins against Billy Hague and Cass. Hague suffered his seventh defeat of the season, going down by the same 3-2 to Atkinson.

In the ‘B’ league, Adam Simpson picked up his first point of the season in a 3-2 defeat to Dave Twaddle.

At the top, Steve Dawson had his lead cut by Liam Dawson, with the youngster thrashing him 5-0 and then beating Graham Love 3-2 in a close encounter.

Steve Dawson recovered to win 3-2 against Jonny Smith, who had earlier defeated Love 5-0.

Twaddle picked up his second win when beating Jon Bointon 3-2. Love will be looking for two good wins next time out to give himself a chance of reaching the vital fourth place in the table.

Meanwhile, Moors Inn remained at the top of the Moors League after a solid 6-4 win over Coach House and a great 9-1 victory at Buck Inn ‘B’.

Paddy Meade starred in the first match with a 90 finish, while Nigel Aconley recorded a 140 score in each.

New Inn beat Crown Inn 7-3 to stay second with two games in hand. Nie Monkman hit a couple of 140s for New Inn as did Darren Sunley for Crown.

White Swan stayed in touch after a 7-3 win over Sun Inn after Neil Robson (121, 2x100) had put Sun ahead. Tim Nichols (140) and Keith Eddon (2x121) set Swan on the way to victory.

Sun had to fight back to draw 5-5 with Crown Inn after Crown shot into a 4-1 lead.

Robson (180, 2x100) again starred for Sun, while Steve Winfield (135) was the pick of the Crown team.

Buck Inn ‘B’ pushed on from 4-3 up to take all the pairs and threes and a useful 7-3 result against Blacksmiths Arms.

Georgie Peirson, Adrian Hall, Col Ward and Clive Atkinson recorded individual wins for Buck.

Coach House find themselves at the foot of the league despite a fine 7-3 win over Buck Inn ‘A’.

They romped 5-0 ahead and, although Buck’s Nathan Harrison and Dave Ord interrupted their progress, a pairs win and three-a-side victory saw them home.
