ANOTHER Logan stun propelled Pickering Town to a gritty Northern Counties East League premier division win.

Striker Billy Logan continued his rich seam of form when his sixth-minute strike for the Pikes proved the only goal of the game against visitors Heanor Town.

It was Logan’s sixth strike in his last four games, but none will likely prove as valuable as Tony Hackworth’s men extended their mini-revival.

The bad news for fixture-less leaders Tadcaster Albion was that two of their rivals each narrowed the gap.

Cleethorpes won 3-1 at home to Liversedge, while Worksop thrashed Armthorpe Welfare 8-1.

Tadcaster, however, will get an immediate opportunity to reinforce their top-flight leadership when they take on Parkgate tomorrow.

Away-day delight was savoured by Knaresborough Town, who hammered Hallam 5-0 in the NCEL first division.

The prime performer for Knaresborough was Bradley Walker. He opened the scoring on the half hour before completing a hat-trick in the second half in which Byron Littlefair and Mitchell Hamilton were also on target.

Selby Town though sampled no such good fortune. After Matthew Turnbull struck in the 26th minute to wipe out an opener from visiting AFC Mansfield, the Robins then yielded a second goal before the game was put out of their reach by two second-half unanswered goals to crash 4-1.

Harrogate Railway Athletic shared the spoils in a goal-less draw at Warrington Town in the Evo-Stik League first division north.

But the shorter trip made by promotion-chasing Scarborough Athletic to Ossett Albion ended without any reward.

Former York City defender Jimmy Beadle put Athletic ahead after just 12 minutes, but by the 55th minute Ossett were 3-1 up, a lead they were never to surrender as the Seadogs’ challenge petered out.

Harrogate Town dipped deeper in the lower reaches of the Conference North after they perished 1-0 to home outfit Brackley.
