DIVISION three high-fliers Kirkbymoorside boosted their hopes of back-to-back title successes in the York Minster Engineering League when coming from behind to beat leaders Civil Service.

Connor Larner gave visitors Service the lead but Kirkbymoorside pegged them back before the interval through an Alex Strickland goal.

Matthew Butler struck after the break to give the Moorsiders three vital points as the title race heats up.

Stamford Bridge held onto fourth place after winning 4-3 at Moor Lane, but they were made to work hard for the points, twice having to come from behind for the victory.

Andrew Kenyon, Gavin Harford and Mike Bourlet were on target for Moor Lane but were out-pointed by Darren Brandon (2), Chris Bowles and John Cavanagh's 12th league goal of the season.

In division four, James Smith struck four times and George Leadley once as Wheldrake triumphed 5-4 at Settrington.

Louis Waltham (2), Daniel Lewis and Edward Marwood netted for Setty, for whom Harry Thistleton was man of the match.
