TERRINGTON Glory bagged a vital and much-needed victory in the York Minster Engineering League.
Struggling Glory’s fixture against bottom team Easingwold Town was the only premier division match on Saturday due to York FA cup ties and it saw the Ryedale side bag only their second win of term to move away from the drop zone.
Their 2-0 victory came courtesy of first-half goals from Josh Ward and Chris Rhodes.
Malton & Norton, who were in cup action, were replaced at the top of division one by F1 Racing after F1’s 6-0 thumping of St Clement’s.
In division four, Settrington went down 4-0 at Melbourne. Luke Laverack bagged a brace for the victors.
In a seven-goal Ryedale derby in the reserve ‘B’ division, the impressive Ryan Cooper, Adam Cook and Thomas Garbutt were on target for Malton & Norton reserves but they suffered a 4-3 defeat at the hands of neighbours Brooklyn reserves.
Will Wood and Nik Shaw both fired doubles as Stamford Bridge inflicted a 5-2 loss on Hemingbrough. Sam Wood added Stamford’s fifth, with Darryl Tate replying twice.
