CONEYSTHORPE ‘B’ marched on in division two of the Ryedale League, convincingly winning 10-0 at Ryedale ‘G’ to confirm their credentials for promotion.

Tom Thorpe starred with three wins and was well assisted by Russ Grimshaw (2) as Amotherby ‘B’ drew with Swinton ‘A’.

Jim Bailey (3) was Hutton ‘A’s top man but his team lost 6-4 to Ryedale ‘F’.

Ryedale ‘E’ welcomed back John Gascoine (2) and borrowed Malcolm Sandlan (2) plus stalwart Alan Kirkwood (2) to beat Swinton ‘B’ 6-4, for whom James Mayne won three.

Mayne won another two as his side fought out a 5-5 derby draw with Swinton ‘A’, for whom Pat Swindell starred with three wins.

In division one, Helmsley ‘A’ beat Amotherby ‘A’ 7-3, Tom Needham the solitary winner for the losers.

Ryedale ‘D’ grabbed four points from stable-mates Ryedale ‘C’ who won for the second week running.

Coneysthorpe ‘A’ beat Whitby 7-3 to keep the pressure on Ryedale ‘A’, who beat their ‘B’ team 8-2.

Hutton ‘B’, with A and M Chappell and Doug Annan shining, crept into top spot in division three as they beat Amotherby ‘E’ 9-1. Dan Kilmartin impressed for the losers.

Coneysthorpe ‘C’ continue to improve, drawing 5-5 at Westow.
