MAN-OF-THE-MATCH Luke Clemmit hit a three-minute hat-trick to help secure a 5-0 victory for Thornton-le-Dale over Newitts.com Beckett League neighbours Ryedale Sports Club reserves.

Thornton dominated possession in the first division clash but had to wait until the 73rd minute before making the breakthrough when Nick Wilkinson's cross was headed on by player/manager Danny Russell for Matthew Wilkinson to score a rare goal.

That opened the floodgates with Craig Barnes doubling the lead from a free kick before Clemmit added a fine solo goal on 84 minutes, got on the scoresheet again following good work by Craig Sunley and completed his first-ever treble for Dale after being teed up by Craig Barnes.

Rosedale enjoyed their first victory of the season when man-of-the-match Sam Knowles struck two minutes from time with an edge-of-the-box effort that wrapped up a 3-2 win against Union Rovers.

Tim Hodgson's penalty and an own goal had earlier seen Dale come back from behind twice following Paul Downes and Dan Simpson strikes for Rovers, who missed a spot kick of their own.

Union's top performer was central-midfielder Nicky Drew.

In division two, Kirkdale United stayed top following a 2-2 draw with third-placed Snainton reserves, who forged ahead following a first-half brace from Mick Ellis.

Paul White and Luke Walton replied with Ellis and Sean Murray their respective team's man-of-the-match winners.

Norton United maintained their 100 per cent record with a 3-1 triumph at Stillington Sports and Social Club.

Adam Hymas opened and completed the scoring with Graham England the other Norton marksman.

Stillington's consolation was netted by Oliver Everard and the hosts also saw another goal disallowed.

Central-midfielder Jordan Coulthard was named man of the match.
