MOORS Inn moved joint top of the Moors Darts League after a merciless 9-1 demolition of hosts Coach House.

They took all seven of the individual legs, which included a great 180 maximum score by Nigel Aconley, a throw of 140 from Sam Dickson and a tidy 66 checkout by Derek Bannister.

Bri Cook and Laura Thompson (100) grabbed the consolation point for Coach in the pairs.

Joint leaders New Inn were shocked to go 2-0 down at home to Crown Inn through Pete Dowsland and Sian Banosik (130).

However, Al Hodgson (125, 100), Mick Ellerby, Mike Hodgson (120, two 100s), Sarah Hodgson (140, two 100s) and Nie Monkman (180, 123, 120) turned the match round to set up a solid 7-3 victory.

Crown’s John Dowson recorded a 180 in his individual leg but still lost out to Mike Hodgson.

White Swan had a fine 7-3 win at Sun Inn, set up by Paul Carter, Steve Cass, Peter Taylor, Keith Eddon (86 finish) and Neil Eddon (81 finish) who all tasted individual success.

Only Bob Sellars and Neil Robson (4x100 in 30 darts) starred for Sun, although Richard Wilson did hit 140 in a losing leg.

Blacksmiths Arms and Buck Inn ‘B’ had a close encounter, in which Buck led 4-3 after the individual games.

Mike Peirson, Col Ward, Dave Cockerill (134) and Mike Wilson did the damage for Buck with Adam, Barbara and Mally Durrant (121, 100) replying for Blacksmiths.

Blacksmiths then dominated the pairs and threes to edge the match 6-4.

The first week of the ten-team Pickering Darts League saw reigning champions Recreation Club take an early 2-0 lead over Sun Inn.

Sun hit back, helped by a 110 finish from Nigel Monkman and a 2-0 win by new signing Liam Dawson, to take the next four games to secure a fine opening 4-3 victory.

Horse Show ‘A’, last year’s league runners-up, gave newcomers Station Hotel a tough start by recording a 6-1 win.

John Spoors hit a 100 plus a 140 in a 17-dart leg, while Graham Steel hit two 21-dart legs with two 100s, a 140 and finishes of 48 and 54.

Working Men’s Club opened a two-game lead over Bar 4 with Cameron Spiller rounding off a 21-darter with a tidy 88 finish.

Bar 4 hit back to level thanks to a 19 darter by Matty Gardener, and a maximum 180 plus a 90 finish by another unnamed player, but the Club upped the tempo to run out 5-2 victors.

Black Swan opened with a solid 5-2 win over Royal Oak despite the efforts of Prod Fenwick, who hit a 100, a 121 and a 131, plus an 18-dart leg, and Phil Pratt, who gained his win with a 21-darter including a maximum 180 and a 77 finish.

Jono Bointon helped Bay Horse into a commanding 4-1 lead over Horseshoe ‘B’ with a 108 finish for an 18-dart leg.

Horseshoe ‘B’ hit back in the team games to only lose 4-3.
