PREMIER division strugglers Terrington Glory took a break from York Minster Engineering League action to play in the North Riding County FA Saturday County Cup against Teesside League foes Richmond Mavericks - where they bagged a 1-0 win.

Goalkeeper Ben Gill was the hero at one end with a man-of-the-match display, with substitute Jonathan Brown the hero at the other with game's only goal.

There was no such glee for unlucky Kirkbymoorside, who met Bedale in the same competition and ended up going out on penalties.

The tie finished 3-3 and Bedale won 6-5 in sudden death of the shoot-out.

There were little joy for Scarborough & District League sides in the North Riding County FA County Cup, as United Sports Bar lost 4-2 to Lingdale and Seamer Sports fell 6-2 at home to Great Ayton.

Liam Vasey and Tom Wiliamson scored for USB, while Joe Tiffany and Luke Purvis were the marksmen for Seamer.

Meanwhile, in the East Riding County FA Cup, Beckett League outfit Union Rovers progressed by beating Eastrington 6-3.

Man-of-the-match Luke Dawson led the way with a hat-trick, with their other goals coming tom Dan Simpson, Nicky Drew and Paul Downs.
