PARITY reigned in a scintillating share-all in York Minster Engineering Football League premier division’s top encounter of the season.

The duel between hosts Dunnington and Old Malton St Mary’s did not disappoint.

In a tussle, which see-sawed from one rival to the next, honours were even at 4-4, the last of the eight goals bagged by Callum Richardson to salvage a draw for Dunnington.

Also on target for the hosts, who led twice after conceding a fourth-minute opener, were Will Pepper, Jimmy Wilmoth and Jonny Andrews, while before Richardson’s last reply, the Old Malton marksmen were Simon Cooke, Tom Fenwick (2) and player-manager Darren Dunning.

Riccall United went nap for a 5-2 win at Church Fenton White Horse.

Gary Collier, Wayne Brook, Ian Beckram, Chris Coxon and Mike Braithwaite shared the Riccall plunder with John Langrick and Lenny Mason replying.

Tadcaster Magnets mustered a 1-1 home draw with Poppleton United. Adam Field scored for the hosts, with Joe Dale wiping out that strike.

Osbaldwick got the better of York RI despite Craig McShane giving the visitors the lead after 65 minutes. Two minutes later, Andrew Bilton restored parity shortly before his brother, Chris, hit a winner in the 68th minute.

Copmanthorpe romped to a 7-0 thrashing of lowly, Easingwold Town.

Danny Leach’s hat-trick led the way backed by goals from Chris Storey (2), Mike Peace and Terry Hibbert.

In division one, York St John edged home 6-4 over Hamilton Panthers.

James Hedley and Sam Kirk both bagged braces for the student team, supplemented by solo efforts from Kieran Mithan and Angus Jones.

Brooklyn hit two late goals to triumph 5-3 at Total Sports United.

The hosts’ plunder was shared by Daniel Hall (2) and Dan Walton.
