Hawley the hero with disputed late winner for Malton & Norton Under-17s

Malton & Norton Under-17s blasted back to form with a 19-14 victory over Bradford & Bingley.
Camped on Bradford’s line, it wasn’t long before Joe Rowe crashed over to open the scoring for Malt, with Alex Caine converting.
Soon after, Caine took the ball in midfield and looked to be passing along the line but instead stepped inside and sliced open Bradford’s back line and scored under the posts, converting too.
Bradford started the second half with vigour and levelled with two converted tries, but Malton desperately needed that first win and, after battering Bradford from one wing to the other, Sam Hawley scored a disputed try in the corner.
Malton & Norton U14s seemed a different side to the one that had capitulated against Pocklington as they played with more fire to win 34-15 at Scarborough.
Big tackles came all over and Malt were first to every breakdown and turned over the ball several times.
Jamie Knaggs made inroads and popped up on the blind side for the first score. Man-of-the-match Joe Nordli carved through for the second, and converted flanker Josh Spittal got the third.
Josh Wainwright sped in from halfway, and, in a reshuffled second-half side, Tyler Hodgson and Tom Wright also scored.
