Youngsters mean business in new football kits

SPORTY schoolchildren in Scarborough have been freshly kitted out thanks to a local business.

Willmott Dixon Partnerships bought new football shirts for the boys’ and girls’ teams at Gladstone Road Junior School, after 100 pupils took part in a site safety day to raise awareness of the importance of staying safe in a construction area.

Brian Robinson, head teacher of the school, said: “They had been wearing the previous shirts for quite a long time and they were starting to show a bit of wear and tear, which was noticed by some of the parents, including Willmott Dixon’s local branch manager, Stuart Witty.

“It was a fantastic surprise when the company offered to purchase the new kits for the pupils.”
