Pickering Under-15s ‘A’ are still looking for their first win of the season after a comprehensive defeat at Driffield.
The Pikes scored 120-6 with Ryan Taylor (24no), Mat Butle (23), Kieran Bowes (21), Chris Davis (20) and Garvan O’Connor (16) contributing.
But Driffield found runs easy as they passed Pickering’s target with four overs and eight wickets to spare.
Pickering U15s ‘B’ lost at home to Bridlington ‘B’ by 91 runs as the visitors set a score of 149-1. In reply, Josh Gorman (10) and Will Taylor (17) got the Pikes off to a decent start but the rest found runs difficult.
Pickering U13s produced another excellent performance to win by 85 runs at Cayton U13s on Monday.
Put into bat, skipper Kieran Boyes (14) and Jonnie Bayes (26 ret) put on 53 for the first wicket, then good contributions from Ryan Taylor, Brad Thompson and the impressive James Mudd (25 ret) pushed the score to 122-3 in their 20 overs. Only Lee Pettitt (2-18) stopped it being higher.
Cayton’s reply didn’t start well as Boyes (2-6) and Bayes (2-4) ripped through the top order which left the batting in disarray as they were bowled out for 37 in the final over.
Pickering U11s ‘B’ lost to a strong Wykeham U11s by 28 runs in the League Cup.
Morgan Campbell (17) top-scored for Pickering as they managed 235-7.
Wykeham looked to be cruising as Aaron Fox (12) and Jake Moorhouse (10) piled on the runs but a fine spell from Kelly Boyes (4-6), coupled with excellent run-outs from Alex Myers and George Ridler, gave the Pikes hope. But Wykeham weathered the storm to progress into the next round.
Pickering U11s ‘C’ are also through after beating Seamer and Thornton-le-Dale.
