Scarborough & District Football League round-up

West Pier have taken over at the top of Scarborough & District League division one after they won 3-0 at Ayton on Saturday.

They also have a game in hand on Edgehill, who have led the division for most of the season.

Neil Thomas (2) and substitute Mike Hartnett were the Pier marksmen.

Newlands Park rose to third after a 6-0 win at Cayton Corinthians with goals by Eric Hall (3), Stuart Bates, Chris Dove and Josh Hakings.

Hunmanby United continue to climb away from the relegation area. They were good value for their 4-3 win at Eastfield St James with Chris Duley scoring a hat-trick and Tom Rees also netting.

Fishburn Park Reserves also did well, winning 3-2 at Westover Wasps.

In division two, Rillington Athletic lost 3-1 at Flixton, who are chasing a return to the first division.

Tim Jackson headed Flixton into the lead 10 minutes before half-time, and, although Liam Scott equalised on the hour mark, Flixton hit late goals through Jackson and Ian Laing.

Leaders Seamer Sports beat Newlands Park Reserves 5-3 with goals by Ali Caw, Joe Tiffany, Dave Darling, Gary Lawton and Jake Moore. Seamer lead Flixton by 10 points although Flixton have three games in hand.

Snainton moved into second place in division three after a 6-0 home win against local rivals Ayton Reserves with Lee Drydale striking four times. Mike Webster and Liam Cooper also netted.

Leaders Falsgrave lost 4-1 at fourth-placed FC Soba – their first league defeat of the season.

Terence Breckon hit a hat-trick for Soba, with Tim Moor also on target. Paul Brady had got an equaliser for Falsgrave. Any of the four leaders can win this division.
