Will Witty scored a hat-trick as Malton & Norton Under-17s beat Bridlington 54-0.
Malt spent the first 10 minutes soaking up pressure, before building a good team performance to overcome their visitors.
After Adam Durrant crashed over to open the scoring, tries came at regular intervals through Witty, Joe Godliman (2), Rob Dempsey and Mikey Smith, James Bulmer adding seven conversions.
Brid’s feisty forwards put up a stiff challenge throughout, but when Malt spread the ball around the park the seasiders were unable to plug all the gaps.
Ill-discipline at the breakdown proved problematic for Malton & Norton U14s as they lost 12-5 to Beverley.
Strong tackling from Caleb Barratt and Lucian Watts kept the score down to 12-0 at half-time and, although Malton were more purposeful after the break, they had only a try by man-of-the-match Hamish Cunningham-Evans, forcing his way in at the corner from a front peel at a lineout following a penalty, to show for it.
Gareth Skelton, who gave Malton go-forward in the loose, James Redhead and Alastair Stent stood out, and they were unlucky not to equalise when Ben Tenge had a try ruled out for an earlier Beverley foot in touch.
Malton & Norton U13s won 39-0 on their first trip to Ripon, giving a superb team display to overcome a tough fight from the hosts. Points came from Tom Wright, Will Fordy, Benedict Fawcett, Josh Wainwright, Harry Butler, Joe Nordli, Owen Hayhurst and Jonnie Bayes.
Hayhurst, Butler and James Walker tackled superbly, and Nordli was on superb form. Tom Pycock worked well alongside Fordy as fly-half and Rory Talling stood out in the second row.
An understrength Malton & Norton U12s lost to a strong Dinnington side in their first competitive match in three weeks.
Some excellent cover tackling from George Turnbull, Zac Davison and Tom Pearson Smith who although playing out of position at fly-half always took on the solid Dinnington defence, kept Malt in the game. Keiran Sykes, who was unlucky not to score, and Will Worswick stood out.
Malton & Norton U10s played some superb rugby to win two games at Pocklington, 6-1 and 9-0.
Tries came from Oliver Kelsey (2), Charlie Blackburn (2), Max Wainwright (3), Alex Chalton (3), Adam Finlinson, Billy Johnson, Thomas Baker and Arthur Aston (2).
Malton & Norton U9s fielded two teams at Pocklington each playing games.
One team won 7-1 and 8-0 with tries by Leon Cook (3), Guy Scothern (2), captain George Welch and Max Lane in the first game and Thomas Askew, William Hicks (3) Wilfy Duree, Lane and Dan Mullaney (2) in the second. Ollie McBeath was unlucky not to score, while Alastair Keen and Guy Scothern tackled well.
Malt’s other team drew 2-2 and lost 5-1. Askew, Cook, Keen and Lane stood out.
Malton & Norton U8s had two wins and one draw in three games at Pocklington.
A 5-1 win saw tries from captain Presley Carr, Ben North, William Cussins, George Baldwin and Jonty Caukwell. A 4-4 draw comprised tries from Mathew King, Cussins, Carr and Caukwell, and a 6-2 vistory had touchdown for Baldwin (3), Cussins, Caukwell and Myles Collingwood. Cussins and Max John stood out.
Malton & Norton U7s played as an excellent unit to win all their four games at Pocklington.
They beat Pock I 7-4 with tries from Toby Welch (3), Lysander Duree (2), Alex Clarke and Matthew Saxby. Hull (yellow) 7-1, with Saxby (3), Toby Welch (2), Clark and Duree crossing Pock II 4-3 with tries from Saxby (2), Duree and Clarke, and Hull (red) 7-4, Welch (2), Clarke (2), Saxby (2) and Duree on the scoresheet.
