FIVE students from Lady Lumley's School in Pickering qualified for the North Eastern Swimming Championships at Sunderland Aquatics Centre - with Jason Robson landing eight medals and all five of them recording personal best times.
This event attracts the elite age group swimmers in the region and, for 11-year-olds, is the highest level of competition achievable.
Robson, 11, who trains with York City Baths Club, led the Lady Lumley's effort, notching six silver medals and two bronze medals in his events.
Joe Kelly, 11, who trains with Scarborough Swimming Club, earned fine fourth places in his 200 metres and 100 metres breaststroke races.
Emily Robson,11, Chris Cook, 15, and Alex Lynn,15, also competed, likewise hitting top form.
Heather Robson, Ryedale Swimming Club coach, said: "All these five swimmers have worked hard for these achievements, travelling from Pickering to Scarborough or York up to seven times a week for training.
"It is a privilege for Ryedale Swimming Club to have been involved in producing such talented young swimmers.
"Also congratulations to 15-year-old Jamie Hyde, from RSC, who qualified for the 50 metre breaststroke for the first time at this level."
