HESLERTON Under-11s maintained their strong start to the season with a 4-2 win at league leaders Seamer.

The early inroads were made by outstanding striker Tom Allan, who found Josh Dolan in the box to open the scoring. Heslerton were then pegged back by a high quality Seamer outfit, who added another from a corner just before the break.

Playing with the wind in the second half, Heslerton went on the attack and got an equaliser from left-back Tom Owen striking the ball home from 40 yards. Josh Dolan added his second with a neat volley and David Hebron went close before Sam Owen poached one late in the game.

Heslerton U7s lost 2-0 in their first game against Seamer despite an encouraging display from Josh Cass and his team-mates. Heslerton’s man of the match was Sammy Taylor-Barber.

In the second game Kai Wilson opened the scoring for Heslerton before Seamer struck twice. Oliver Dade then hit a post and Malachey Kendrew crashed his follow up against an upright before Warren Stanton’s effort went wide.

Heslerton U8s beat hosts Filey 5-0 with strikes from Jake Allardice, man of the match Charlie Swiers (2), including a free kick from the halfway line, and Myles Johnson (2). In the second game, strikes from Allardice, Swiers, Rio Howden, Matthew Moss, Johnson and Tommy Palmer saw Heslerton triumph 6-0. Man of the match was Harry Thompson.

Heslerton U9s went 1-0 down to Burlington Jackdaws but Alfie Thompson and Oliver Barnett worked hard to get Heslerton back in the game.

In the second half, Heslerton started much brighter and man of the match Brandon McCann beat two men to score and Oliver Botterill netted direct from a corner. Burlington scored in the dying seconds.

In the second game, Heslerton struck first through Jalen Welburn, but Burlington proved too strong.

Heslerton U10s triumphed at Burlington Jackdaws thanks to a superb team performance and three fantastic goals from man of the match Charlie Richardson. Heslerton U14s lost 7-2 to Hunmanby having trailed 4-0 at half-time. Heslerton came out fighting in the second half and scored two goals through Leah Dobson and Harry Stubbing. Conor Miles was unlucky on several occasions, striking the woodwork, but Hunmanby scored three more to make the final score 7-2. Man of the match was Harry Teasdale, closely followed by debutant Jamie Muir.

Brooklyn U11s Lions beat league hosts Dunnington 7-2. The home team took an early lead before Matthew Lock came on to gain an assist as Dylan Dykes levelled the scores.

Just before the half-time whistle, Lucas Croft scored with a superb header and then, within a minute of the restart, Lock hit the back of the net, followed quickly by a goal for Ethan Oakes. The defence worked well to keep the home team at bay, with Oliver Towse, Joe O’Brien and Will Hartley, the joint man of the match, all working well together.

A deflected goal which came off an Oakes shot, followed by a Jay Jackson goal virtually sealed the victory. The visitors were then awarded a penalty, which was superbly taken by captain and joint man of the match Will Lightfoot.

The home team were then rewarded with a blistering second goal.

Andrew Cook handled well in goal and was unlucky to be denied the clean sheet he deserved.

Old Malton St Mary’s U11s earned a comfortable 5-1 win at Heworth Lions. Josh Mann opened the scoring for Old Malton with a great shot from outside the box and Mann then turned provider with a fine low cross for Alex Horton to finish neatly. Mann scored Old Malton’s third before half-time, curling in a left-footed shot.

Heworth scored early in the second half but Old Malton added further goals from Kallum Moston, finishing well off a post following Connor Biggins’ pass, and Mann completing his hat-trick with a powerful shot from the edge of the box. Joe Judge and Mann shared the man of the match.

Old Malton St Mary’s U12s kept up their undefeated record after a close call against Elmpark. Malton took early control thanks to a superb shot by Arthur Rees, but then saw a penalty saved. Elmpark levelled but Rees struck again after a brilliant pass by William Fletcher. In the second half, Malton made the most of another penalty, scored by Thomas Alngohuro. Elmpark responded with a penalty.

Kirkbymoorside U14s were 6-1 winners at Old Malton St Mary’s in the North Riding Cup, thanks to goals from Ben Teasdale (2), James Farrow (2), Jack Edwards and Dan Ward.

The Moorsiders U15s lost 8-2 to Richmond in the North Riding Cup, Lucas Davison and Alto Van-Outersterp on target for the beaten side.

Kirkbymoorside U11s lost 3-0 at Ayton.
