AMOTHERBY were crowned the winners of the seventh annual Ryedale Superschools event at Ampleforth College.
The competition attracted six schools with Amotherby joined by Kirkbymoorside, Helmsley, Nawton, Gillamoor and Thornton Dale. After six events - rowing, bench jumps, accuracy, tyre flips, rodeo and swimming - the outcome came down to the team relay swim. Amotherby and Helmsley were tied on 112 points and Amotherby won a tie break.
