THE run of success enjoyed by Terrington Hall under-13 rounders team continued with a home win at the school's annual ten-team tournament.

In the group stages, Terrington beat Scarborough College 11½-2½, Queen Margaret’s 15½-10½ and Durham School 18½-3 before a convincing 14-6 semi-final victory against Mowden Hall.

The final was against Cundall Manor and Terrington triumphed 16½-4.

Natalie Glen, U13 rounders coach and head of girls’ games, said: "The girls played very well throughout and raised their game at the important times.

‘While the depth of the batting was impressive, it was the fielding that stood us apart from the other sides."

Glen retires as head of girls' games and head of art in December after 17 years at the school.

Meanwhile, three under-9s records were broken at Terrington Hall’s annual athletics sports day, with the tightest margin ever recorded between the competing houses.

The final scores were Rhodes 714½, Drakes 713 and Clives 681½

The record-breakers were Leila Charters with 13.63 metres in the discus ball, Toby Welch with 11.03m in the shot and Freddie Balck with a time of 14.9 seconds in the 100m.

The winners of the victor and victrix ludorum trophies were: U13 - Joe Browne and Amelia Blackburn; U11 - James Naylor and Christabel Storey; U9 - Toby Welch and Leila Charters.
