PICKERING Town Under-12s won the Scarborough & District Minor League crown after a crazy final week which involved a title play-off.

Several teams had been in with chances to win the title but it eventually came down to the very last game of the season between Pickering Town and Flixton.

The young Pikes needed just a draw to win the league but Flixton scored a dramatic winner with two minutes to go to triumph 4-3.

A play-off was then needed between the same two teams to decide the champions.

This game began well for Pickering with Mattie Nicholson heading them in front, and midway through the half Tom Wright placed a free kick into the top corner.

Wright soon made it three nil with a low angled shot, and Jordan Anderson made it four just before the break, following up after the keeper had saved well.

In the second half, Harry Coldbeck added a brace before Miles Cullingworth finished off in style his first goal for the club. Flixton bagged a late consolation but the title belonged to Pickering.

Josh Mann was a hat-trick hero as Old Malton St Mary's U10s drew 3-3 at Easingwold in their final league game of term.

Nathan Dolphin's lay-off saw Mann hit an unstoppable goal-of-the-season contender into the top corner, in off a post.

Easingwold forged a 2-1 lead before Mann's second came via a deflected low shot across goal. Easingwold retook the lead but, late on, Dolphin did well to win possession and then put a super pass for Mann to again finish well.

Easingwold won the friendly that followed 4-3 after racing 4-1 up. Alex Horton, Seb Allan-Swallow and Mann got St Mary's goals.

Brooklyn U10s Lions lost 4-2 to Strensall 'A' in their last game of the season.

Strensall went three up, aided by poor defending. Brooklyn improved in the second half and some

better football brought goals for Will Hartley, with a corner which deflected passed the keeper, and Ethan Oakes, set up by Matthew Lock.

The Lions pushed for an equaliser but the hosts broke away to score their fourth.

Brooklyn won the second game 2-1, with Oakes scoring a brace.

Man-of-the-match keeper Andy Cook produced some fantastic saves throughout both games.

A good all-round team show saw Brooklyn U10s Tigers beat Strensall U10s 'B' 2-1.

A fine team move led to an excellent finish from Kallum Leogue and, although Strensall levelled against the run of play, The Tigers quickly retook the lead through a fine left-foot strike from Joshua McBurnie.

The Tigers won the second game 3-1, with two more goals from McBurnie and a fine header from Jamie Scurry.
