Brooklyn U13s lost 7-1 in their Scarborough FA Cup semi-final at Scarborough Athletic.

An unfortunate penalty against Brooklyn put Athletic ahead but Brooklyn created chances in the first half and battled hard to keep the scoreline at 1-0 at half-time.

Early goals in the second half killed off the tie, though Brooklyn goalkeeper Anthony Boyes made some amazing saves to take the man-of-the-match accolade while the tireless Harry Cooper got their goal and was voted players' man of the match.

Meanwhile, Old Malton St Mary's U10s drew 0-0 with unbeaten visitors Osbaldwick.

Malton put in a very good performance and were more than a match for a strong visiting team.

Playing against the breeze in the first half, they restricted Osbaldwick to a couple of long-range efforts. With the wind, Old Malton dominated possession and territory and went close several times through Alex Horton, Jack Mudd-Bowes and Josh Mann but could not quite force a winner.

St Mary's won the friendly between the sides 2-0 thanks to a superb first-half penalty save by Seb Allen-Swallow and second-half goals from Alex Horton, turning well and finishing with precision in off a post, and Nathan Dolphin, direct from a corner.

Kallum Moston was man of the match.

Heslerton U10s and Cayton U10s produced fine displays in two friendlies.

Cayton were the stronger team in the first game - the hosts troubling the keeper only once when Alex Troop hit a post.

Heslerton were on top at the start of the second game, going close a few times before Brad Spiller curled in the opener from the edge of the box. Spiller added a second but the visitors fought back to edge the contest.

Alfie Thompson, Alex Troop and man-of-the-match midfielder Ihsan Eroglu impressed for Heslerton.

Hayden Williamson was man of the match as Heslerton U9s hosted Holt in a well-matched friendly.

Midfielder Jake Shepherdson came close to scoring on several occasions, including a cracking shot which ricocheted off the bar.

Oliver Barnett, with some excellent runs in midfield, was Heslerton U8s' man of the match away to Scarborough Sports.

Oliver Botterill scored from a free-kick and some excellent passes brought further goals from Brandon McCann and Alfie Thompson. Adam Meynell did well in defence.

Heslerton U7s fell behind early on at West Pier but battled away and drew level with strikes from Matthew moss and Charlie Swiers either side of half-time and were unlucky not to add to the total. The man of the match was Rio Howden.

In the second game, Jake Allardice and Max Taylor Barber scored, with Lincon Welburn named man of the match.

Brooklyn U11s Girls beat Poppleton 4-0.

Brooklyn started slowly but defenders Jess Scholefield and Katie Robinson kept the opposition at bay, and they got the breakthrough when top-scorer Florence Pegrum struck twice in two minutes.

Brooklyn were on top throughout the second period, and their pressure finally paid off when Rosie Smith finished off a good move for her first goal of the season. Emily Cooper broke free to score the fourth.
