MALTON & NORTON Under-15s were beaten 29-19 at Old Brodleians.

With just a bare 15 players, Josh Spittal carved his way through for a well-worked try.

But, having played Brods in the Yorkshire Cup, they knew how tough the home side would be and they scored when Malton failed to clear their lines.

The visitors responded with another try but Brods crossed once more. The home team picked up and drove after the break. They sucked Malton in - creating overlaps to score. Hudson picked up to score, but Brods put the result out of Malton’s reach.

Malton & Norton U13s beat Scarborough 50-0. George Austin-Thompson scored three tries and Jack Villa- Fordon got four. Joe Browne galloped in from long range after the break, Laurie Jackson scored on debut and Archie Johnson plunged over from close range.

Malton & Norton U12s beat Beverley 33-0 but lost 7-0 to Hull Ionians.

Against Beverley, they were two tries up when Oliver Kelsey motored in.

A third try gave them a 21-0 lead at half-time. Adam Finlinson charged down a clearance five metres out to score and Max Wainwright notched a superb individual try. Finlinson and Kelsey converted two tries each.

Malton worked hard against Ionians in their next match but could not split the defence.

Malton & Norton U10s played Beverley, Hull Ionians and Hullensians.

The first game ended in a 10-10 draw - with Presley Carr and William Cussins on the scoresheet.Cussins scored once more against Hull in the second match but they lost 15-5 as Ionians had the better of affairs after the break. A third game against Hullensians ended in a 15-0 loss.

Malton & Norton U7s had a turn out of 10 players for matrix matches against Beverley and Hull Ionians.

They split into two teams with the seconds playing some brilliant rugby against Beverley and Hull, while the first team played a best of three match against Beverley.

The latter won the first game 9-8 and the second match ended in a 7-7 draw with Lewis Winzae and McKenzie Bainton scoring some superb tries.

Malton won the third match 9-7, Jack Deighton scoring four tries.
