Golf: Julian Taylor flays USA rivals

Julian Taylor Julian Taylor

REIGNING York Union of Golf Clubs’ open championship Julian Taylor continues to excel.

After following that title success with a runner-up slot – beaten in a playoff for the Westwood Trophy at Rotherham by Darren Timms – the York Golf Club star returned to William Woods University in America, where he has made a sterling impact on collegiate golf.

And he was quickly into a winning groove.

In the first event of the year he effectively led the Owls to victory in the Missouri Intercollegiate tournament in which he posted the winning singles score for the event and was acknowledged as the AMC golfer of the week.

Then, in the Diet Pepsi Shocker Invitation hosted by Wichita State University, he recovered from 12th place to take the title – taking the AMC accolade for the second week in a row.
