Pool: Trio locked together at the top of league

THREE teams are locked on 21 points at the top of Malton & Norton League division ‘A’.
Derwent Arms ‘B’ found their form to whitewash Malton Cons to end the Cons’ unbeaten start, and they join at the summit Hyde Park ‘A’, who beat Queens Head 5-2, and Union ‘A’, who despatched Royal Oak ‘A’ 5-2.
Derwent Arms ‘A’ won a finalframe decider against Union ‘B’, while Hyde Park ‘B’ had their first win of the campaign, 4-3 over Bright Steels ‘A’.
Bright Steels ‘B’ and Spotted Cow are joint leaders of division ‘B’. Steels won 4-3 at George Hotel and Cow 6-1 at Kings Head ‘B’. Railway Tavern ‘B’ won their first match of the season, 6-1 at home to Blue Ball ‘B’.
Competition draws take place on Monday at Bright Steels Social Club from 7.30pm. Teams with entrants are asked to send a representative.
Monday is also the first round of the team knockout, to be played where drawn: Blacksmith Arms v Hyde Park A; Spotted Cow v Golden Lion A; Golden Lion B v Blue Ball A; George Hotel v Royal Oak A; Blue Ball B v Union A; Hyde Park B v Malton Cons; Kings Head B v Union B; Royal Oak B v Kings Head A. All other teams receive a bye.
